Our Commitment to Sustainability

In recent years, Eastport Singapore has adopted several green initiatives within the company to reduce our carbon footprint by consciously adopting the ‘3Rs’ (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) wherever possible. Recognizing that everyone can play a role, big and small, in combating climate change, Eastport started off with simple first steps and will remain steadfast in growing our efforts towards a more sustainable future. Our goal is to be part of a wider business community to promulgate resource efficiency and environmental resiliency.
Innovation, as one of Eastport core values, has been the driving force behind our green efforts, and through which we now focus on by redesigning operating processes around sustainable solutions. Keeping our customers’ needs in sight, we are committed to deliver responsible services and reduce waste and conserve energy usage in our business activities.
Eastport’s management will demonstrate leadership by setting the direction of our green ambitions and pressing on with our sustainability efforts. Singapore has embarked on the Green Plan 2030 to achieve a long-term net zero emissions aspiration and this spurs us to stay on course to tackle climate change together as a nation. At Eastport, our motivation has gone beyond profit- making. We stand for the betterment of our planet and humanity and thus our sustainability journey is an infinite one.
Our Eco-Friendly Efforts

-
Green retrofit
Our new office has been retrofitted with LED lights. Compared to fluorescent ones, they are more environmentally friendly and energy efficient. The tubes are mercury-free and recyclable.
-
Going Paperless
Digital filing, signatures and approvals have minimized the printing of extensive documents, eliminating paper-related emissions. By cutting out fuel consumed in the logistics chain to transport these documents, we are reducing our carbon footprint.
-
Fueling up responsibly
Instead of serving individually packed coffee in the pantry, we are now brewing coffee with capsules that are fully recyclable.
-
Finding the right balance
Air balancing improves circulation, ensuring optimal airflow within the office. By doing so, we have halved the number of cassette air conditioners installed, increasing energy savings.
-
Telecommuting
By introducing flexible working arrangements, we have reduced the need for employees to travel daily. Eliminating driving and daily commuting can help to lower carbon emissions in the transport sector.
-
Bring your own cup
Disposable cups, contributing to GHG emissions and landfill, are no longer provided. Drinking water is now dispensed through a built-in hydrotap, instead of plastic drums, which are harmful for the environment.
-
Cloud computing
Physical servers consume a huge amount of power and emit carbon dioxide. We have fully migrated to cloud servers, reducing high energy use and emissions.
-
Creating green spaces
Living greenery in the workplace increases employee wellness and productivity. Certain indoor plants also improve air quality and temperature, resulting in lower energy used for cooling the office.
-
Reduce and reuse
Our employees were given reusable Eastport masks during the COVID-19 outbreak, reducing the need to use disposable masks, which add to the landfill.
